Karma SUPtra went head to head with the Dragons last month as Founder Julie Thayer introduced her boards to the world on the March 23rd episode of Dragons’ Den on CBC Television. Dragons’ Den is one of the most successful Canadian reality programs and averaged nearly one million viewers each week during the 2014/15 season, reaching one-third of all Canadians. The series provides the opportunity for aspiring entrepreneurs to pitch their business concepts and products to a panel of Canadian business moguls who have the cash and the know-how to make it happen.
With fire in the belly, Julie approached the Dragons in hopes of an investment in Karma SUPtra – the latest innovation in SUP and yoga. Dragons Michael Wekerle and Michelle Romanow got on board, literally, as she invited them to experience the boards firsthand and that’s when the fun (and headstands!) really ensued.
Julie had the time of her life in the den that day and left feeling thankful for the lessons learned and the incredible opportunity to share her passion with such a large audience. Julie is eternally grateful for all the support she has received from her hometown of Uxbridge, ON and beyond.
